I loved this workshop so much! It was a head, hearts & body experience. I lived the modelling of authentic masculine. I feel confident to bring Rick’s teachings to my work with men.

This training was informative, heartfelt & professionally run. I work with clients who are male survivors, so the work was pertinent and broadened my understanding and knowledge.
I am leaving today with a full heart & deeper understanding. Rick was a great presenter & his delivery was spot on - in balancing the theory with the experimental. It was inclusive & I never felt talked down to.
I also wanted to mention that I was thoroughly impressed & grateful to Mosaic. They are an organisation I wasn't aware of prior to this training, but I have a deep admiration for them and the work they do.
Lastly I give thanks for a superb group of participants. It felt like everyone brought themselves to the training and there was a sense of correctness that deepened over the week.
I am heading back to my mahi in Auckland feeling very connected to this experience and full admiration for your organization and the quality of this work. I saw a lot of my male clients reflected in this work and have a strong desire to put these learnings to use to deepen my work. Thank you.

I feel that I’ve been gifted an entire new view on men and trauma. Thank you.

Well done Mosaic! This training has been wonderful. Your choice of facilitator, amazing. The venue was central & great cafes, etc. I would definitely attend another of your trainings.
- Karyn
Fantastic - we need more of this.
Looking forward to seeing the work evolve from this and now a ‘community’ continues to develop.

Every effort was made by the team to take good care of everyone. The content was intense!
Thank you Rick and the Mosaic team for an amazing training.
One of the best trainings I have ever attended, thank you Rick and Mosaic.

Multi-day trainings are great for depth & breadth of delivery and they are long. This one was worth it.
Straight away from start of first day, I found the Mosaic team warm & welcoming, easy to approach. They created a safe place to be while on training - to the vulnerable, they were caring.
Rick was one of the best trainers I have experienced in integrating theory, research & practice.
Some small unexpected highlights for me were: “Theoryland” (which I misheard as fairyland), the difference between what research theory says happens and people’s lived experience/narrative.
Selfcare is not about having a treat, it’s ongoing day-to-day care. Hearing his journey into and through Duluth Model.
Also I admired the respectful way he responded to participants questions/disagreements about culture-Maori not fitting his presentation, use of binary gender models & diagrams.
I learnt a lot from his style of presenting and being with a diverse group of people.
THANK YOU Mosaic for this opportunity, and especially Rob, who talked with me after I returned from time out on Thursday and Richard who checked on with me on Friday and ALL the Mosaic workers and their openness & warmth.
- Ruth
This is the most valuable learning experience I attended in a very long time. Rick was able to create a safe space, hold the group, provide high quality, evidence based theory with practical application with humility.
We did not only receive information, but the ‘how to’ was modeled at a high level. I wish mental health services will offer/make this type of training compulsory for all clinicians so that recovery becomes reality

Grateful, vital training. I’ve been to a lot of trainings over the years & my comments would be accommodating. But this training “Blew my socks off”. Rick was “the man”, I have another role model & I only used to have 1 now 2. Mosaic team, thank you so much for your support & genuineness.
- Derryn
It has been a privilege to attend this training organised by Mosaic as well as the Presenter has been excellent. Here in New Zealand we need people like Rick Goodwin who are so knowledgeable, professional, work to a high ethical standard and such experience and wisdom.

Excellent & about time. Kia kaha.

I wanted to pass on how much I enjoyed the symposium. I really thought
it was excellent - the content was informative, useful,
and well-weighted for the audience. It didn't drag, like so many conferences tend to do,
and those members of the audience who maybe had a little too much to say were contained well during the Q and A components.
One thing in particular stood out for me. I had to step out to use the bathroom during the mid-morning session, and my departure happened to coincide with a particularly confronting part of Rick's presentation. As I made my way out of the auditorium, one of your volunteers made it his business to quietly check in with me, and see if I was ok.
I was incredibly moved by this
simple gesture, and I feel it spoke volumes in regards to the care that Mosaic obviously
took when putting this symposium together.
I look forward to attending whatever it might be that Mosaic puts on next.

I liked the bigger conference (day 1) followed by the 4 day (training group) as a concept to deliver this training. It made day 2, 1st day of the group training, with everyone essentially to be at the same event.
Delivery of training was a revelation (great). I expected a traditional method of being taught theory in traditional/common manner. In fact it was delivered as if 'virtual reality'. I felt like a participant in a ‘live group’ which gave a greater understanding an appreciation of the content delivered.
- Terence
This should be taught across all social sectors.
- Toni
This has been one of the most valuable trainings I have attended, both in terms of professional development education, professional networking and personal development.
This content should be essential learning for all health professionals. I am proud and grateful to have been part of.
